LCD vs PLASMA
Plasma technology.
Plasma technology is made up of thousands of pixel cells which allow eletrical pulses to excite gases (e.g.neon), causing a glowing effect and light is produced. The light illuminates a balance of blue, green and red phosphors in every cell. All of the pixel cells act like individual light bulbs. The pixel cells are controlled by software within the electronic circuitry.

Lcd technology
LCD consists of a matrix of thin film transistors which provide a voltage to liqiud crystal cells inside two sheets of glass. When the crystals receive an electrical charge, they produce a white light generated by a bulb behind the screen. LCD televisions reproduce colours by blocking out colour wavelengths from the white light spectrum, which then produces the required colour.
When it comes to screen size, Plasma has the larger size screens, but with the fast growing technology of LCD, they are rapidly catching up.
The weight of a Plasma is much heavier than an LCD television. Therefore the LCD is much easier to install and not as fragile as a Plasma screen.
