FREESAT
Freesat is a satellite (digital) facility from ITV and the BBC. In order to receive this service you will require a Freesat receiver and of course a digital satellite dish. It would be beneficial to also have an HD ready television set.
Freesat has the advantage of having two high definition (HD)channels. It is also advantagious because ninety eight percent of the population can receive it compared with seventy five percent with freeview.
Freesat means that you will receive the your digital signal from sky through a digital satellite dish and a freesat box, with more coverage than freeview and approximately four times the number of channels than freeview. It is also possible to upgrade to Sky television without needing new equipment.

Freesat also has the advantage of some programmes with the facility of Subtitles and sign language when it is available. Some programmes also have Audio Description when it is available.
The government will switch off all of the tv regions' analogue signal between 2008 and 2012. If you switch over now, you could enjoy all of the advantages of Freesat as soon as the equipment is installed.
